Banzai health and dental plans are both through SelectHealth, but they're not the same plan—each requires separate enrollment. It's easy to enroll in both, and most employees do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Copied to clipboard!
  • Does the dental plan cover braces?
Yes! As of 2022, orthodontic services are covered for individuals under age 20. Select Health will cover 50% of the cost up to $1,500. You can use money from an FSA to pay for the rest or for braces for individuals 20 and older. Consider contributing to an FSA if you think you or your dependents will need braces in the upcoming year.
  • Do I have to pay for preventive care before I reach my deductible?
No. Preventive care (cleanings, exams, x-rays) are covered 100%, whether or not you've met your deductible. This means you can go in for a cleaning, twice a year, for free.
  • What is preventive care?
Each plan covers preventive and diagnostic care 100%. What does that mean? Basically, you and your dependents can go to the dentist twice a year for an exam & cleaning for free. This is the semi-annual appointment where a dental hygienist cleans your teeth and a dentist inspects your mouth for gum disease, cavities, etc. You & your dependents will also qualify for free x-rays; other preventive measures are covered as well. See the dental plan's Explanation of Benefits pdf for a detailed list and more information on x-ray coverage.
  • Can I submit a reimbursement claim for dental procedures?
Banzai's Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) can only be applied to covered medical costs. So, no, you cannot use it for dental expenses.
